Dear Prospective Summer Conference Housing Employee:
Summer Conference Housing is an integral part of the UMass Amherst Conference Services Office. During the summer we expect to host and house over 10,000 guests in the University Residence Halls. The SCH team is responsible for preparing for these guests and for assuring that their time here is comfortable and safe.
Please take some time to read through all of the information in the Job Descriptions. The combination of information has been provided to answer your questions and give you a clear sense of our expectations. There are five separate job descriptions included. Each of these jobs is vital to the success of our Summer Conference Housing program and, each is unique and has specific requirements. Please note that supervisory positions require that the employee not take summer classes. Desk/Crew staff members may take classes during the summer and may opt to work only a limited schedule.
In order to apply for a Summer Conference Housing position, please complete the application and submit it online.
Only applications that are completed in full will be considered for an interview. The application must be returned before 5:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2013. Applications received after this time will be held in the event of future openings but will not be considered in the initial round of interviews.
If you would like to be considered for more than one position, please rank them 1 – 5 using 1 to indicate your first choice position.
Interviews will be scheduled for the weeks of April 1st & 8th 2013. Hiring offers will be made in the Last week of April. There will be a short informative meeting / training session during the week of April 29th , 2013. All employees must be available to work for some portion of the weekend of May 10th – 12th, 2013. Specific times and details will be provided at the interviews.
